PROject for the holistic utilisation and optimisation of wind turbines by innovative sensor systems
PRONOWIS aims at the upgrading and installation of sensor components with a special emphasis on the development of a practical condition monitoring system for the early detection of so-called white etching cracks (WEC) on the drive train of wind turbines. Based on results from preliminary projects as well as ongoing activities on damage patterns the sensor components will be trained and validated. The groundwork is, among other things, the extensive screening and statistical analysis of existing data sets stemming from field systems and previous projects.

Within the project lacking results on material and lubricant analyses will be developed in parallel. The descriptive variables of the damage patterns serve as input variables for the installation and calibration of the measuring probes on different test stands. As a result, a functioning condition monitoring system scaled to WEC damage patterns will be developed.
