Waste Heat Usage Concept Bochum

Since the beginning of 2012, EPC has been involved in the development of an integrated waste heat usage concept for the east part of the city ofBochum in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technologies and an engineering office.

The primary goal is to optimise the supply of energy to this area of the city, with the focus on the use of renewable energy sources. A master plan with agreed-upon specific measures will help the relevant parties with the implementation of proven energy supply options based on costs, acceptance and environmental sustainability.

EPC is responsible for the inclusion of stakeholders as well as public relations as part of the concept development. This includes discussing the implementation suggestions that have been developed together with the stakeholders, weighing them and inspecting these measures for feasibility.

The project is co-financed by the German Ministry for the Environment.
